We are extremely proud to announce that Noel DeBacker, MD, CMD, Medical Director of Wesley Place, has been named Medical Director of the Year by the American Medical Director’s Association! He was presented with the award on March 9th at their annual meeting in San Antonio, Texas. This award recognizes “individuals whose vision, passion, leadership, knowledge and commitment succeed in taking patient care in the facilities they serve as medical director to exceptional levels of quality, excellence and innovation,” as explained by the AMDA. Dr. DeBacker was selected by a peer review committee from a pool of candidates nominated in care facilities throughout the country.
As great an honor as this is, it comes as no surprise to the patients, families, and employees at Wesley Place, who know that he is truly deserving of this award. “Not only is he one of Chicago’s finest physicians, he embodies a rare blend of charisma, integrity, and knowledge that makes him a great team leader,” said CMSS President and CEO, Bill Lowe. “This award is well deserved and long overdue.”
Dr. DeBacker is responsible for implementing cutting-edge programs, such as Quality of Life Rounds and the highly reputable orthopedic rehab program at Wesley Place. He ensures that nurses and physicians operate by the highest standards and in accordance with industry-recognized best practices.
Dr. DeBacker’s passion for medicine reaches beyond Wesley Place. In addition, he cares for patients in his own practice, teaches at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, has served on numerous medical committees, and has presented at conferences across the country. He has received a variety of other awards and accolades, including recognition by Chicago Hospital News as one of Chicago’s top physicians.
Congratulations Dr. DeBacker!
